Jhunjhunu
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India. Jhunjhunu is one of the famous town. Jhunjhunu is a town in the state of Rajasthan in India, and the administrative headquarters of Jhunjhunu District. It has an average elevation of 323 metres. Jhunjhunu district is a part of Shekhawati. It is called Shakhawati after the name of Rao-Shekha. He was a great warrior. Mohammed khan was first Nawab of Jhunjhunu. As of 2001 India census India, Jhunjhunun had a population of 100,476. Jhunjhunu was the main center of the Shekhawat clan. Maharaja Sardul singh Shekhawat and Jujhar Singh Nehra conquered the city in samvat 1787. But, as per Kunwar Panne Singh's book 'Rankeshari Jujhar Singh', Jujhar Singh was killed by Shekhawats after he was appointed the chieftain. Jhunjhunu town was established in the memory of Jujhar Singh, the above Jat chieftain of Nehra gotra. The town was made the capital of the new Shekhawati. The town is famous for frescos on grand Havelis, which is speciality of the Shekhawati region. famous Personalities of Jhunjhunu Birlas, R P Goenka, Devi Singh Mandawa, Shis Ram Ola etc. Places of Tourist Interest are Shri Lal ahadur Mal Ki Haveli, Lakha ka ki Haveli, Satya Narain Temple, Jiwan Ram Marodia ka Talab etc. The temples, mosques, Forts, Palaces, Tombs. Wells stepwells cenotaphs and havelies of excellent fresco-paintings which speak with full throated ease about the glorious past of Jhunjhunu. They are the master pieces of art and architecture, Shekhawati region offers many resorts of beauty to the tourist.
