AirAsia to Launch Flights to Ipoh, Tawau, Kota Bharu and Sandakan from Johor Bahru hub
AirAsia is to launch flights to Ipoh, Tawau, Kota Bharu and Sandakan from its hub in Johor Bahru.
Beginning 6th February 2006, AirAsia will operate 4 flights weekly (every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) to Ipoh and Tawau; 3 flights weekly (every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) to Kota Bharu and Sandakan.
Besides the introduction of the new routes, AirAsia is also boosting frequencies to several of its existing destinations, namely from Johor to Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Penang. The airline will operate 10 flights a week to Kuching, 11 flights a week to Kota Kinabalu , and 10 flights a week to Penang. All flights depart from Senai International Airport, in Johor Bahru.
Due to the expansion in Johor, AirAsia will deploy a second aircraft to Johor to serve the new routes and added frequencies.
To commemorate the expansion in Johor, AirAsia is offering the following online fare promotions for travel between 6th February 2006 – 28th October 2006:

Johor to Tawau from RM 49.99 one way / Sin$ 23.99 one way
Johor to Sandakan from RM 49.99 one way / Sin$ 23.99 one way

Johor to Penang from RM 39.99 one way / Sin$ 18.99 one way
Johor to Kuching from RM 39.99 one way / Sin$ 18.99 one way
Johor to Kota Kinabalu from RM 59.99 one way / Sin$ 28.99 one way
Above fares quoted are excluding airport taxes, surcharges and fees, and are applicable for travel one way only.
