Samastipur
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India. Samastipur is an administrative district in the state of Bihar in India. The district headquarters are located at Samastipur. The district occupies an area of 2905 square kilometers and has a population of 3,413,413 inhabitants as of 2001. Its situated at the bank of Budhi Gandak River. Thaneshwar Temple is a very famous tample of Lord Shiva, and is situated at the heart of the city. Samastipur is rich in agriculture, because of is fertile plain. Tobacco, maize, rice and wheat are the main crop. Leechi and mango fruits are grown in abundant. The major population is very hard working. The main fastival of the district is Chhat Puja which is celebrated after the fastival of Diwali.
