Raigarh

India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India.

Raigarh is a town in Chhatisgarh state of central India. It is the administrative headquarters of Raigarh District. Before Indian Independence, Raigarh was the capital of the princely state of Raigarh. It has a population of 110,987 inhabitants.

Raigarh is a cultural city. It is famous for Kathak dance and classical Music. This city has produced greate katthak dancers like Shree Firtu maharaj, Vijaya Sharma. Every year, on Ganesh Chaturthi, a festival named Chakradhar Samaroh is organized in which music and dance exponents from all over India visit and displays their art. This event is organized in the memory of the memory of Great King and Musician Maharaja Chakradhar Singh.
