Miyazaki

As of 2003, the city had an estimated population of 307,742 inhabitants and a density of 1,072.42 persons per square kilometers. The total area is 286.96 square kilometers. The city was founded on April 1, 1924. It is a sister city to Virginia Beach.
Furusato Matsuri Festival, A festival in which over 10,000 of Miyazaki citizens participate in. Held on the first Saturday of August it includes street parades and display of traditional and modern dancing. And Miyazaki Shrine Grand Festival This traditional festival is popularly known as Jimmu-sama amongst locals, and features procession of people riding horses clad in ancient costumes.
