Kure
Japan is an island country in East Asia. Kure is a municipality located in Hiroshima prefecture, Japan. Hiroshima region is located in the Chugoku region on Honshu Island, Japan. In 2005, the population of the city was 252,253 and an area of 353.16 square kilometers. The city was founded on October 1, 1902. Kure was the home base of the largest battleship ever built, the Yamato. In the city, vestiges of the former Japanese Naval Base are found here and there, which tell the peculiar history of its surviving hard times. In the area of Irifuneyama Memorial Hall and The Kure Municipal Museum of Art, the pavement is made of red brick, which contrasts nicely with the green pine trees lining the street.
