Chiba
Japan is an island country in East Asia. It is located in the Pacific Ocean it lies to the east of China, Korea, and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea in the south. Its capital and largest city is Tokyo. It has the world's 10th largest population. It is world's largest international creditor and is the sixth largest exporter and importer and is a member of the United Nations. And it is a leading nation in the fields of scientific research, technology, machinery, and medical research with the world's third largest budget for research and development.
Chiba is the capital city of Chiba prefecture, Japan. It is east-southeast of Tokyo on Tokyo Bay. Chiba City is one of the Kanto region's primary seaports. Much of the city is residential, although there are many factories and warehouses along the coast. Makuhari district is a prime waterfront business district, in which Makuhari Messe is located. As of 2003, the city had an estimated population of 909,497 and a density of 3,342.76 persons per square kilometers. The total area is 272.08 square kilometers.
The city was founded on January 1, 1921 and was designated on April 1, 1992 by government ordinance. In the Heian period, the first records related to the city of Chiba record the emigration of Taira Tsuneshige to Chiba. He proclaimed himself Chiba no Suke and governed around the region all know as Chiba city today. His descendants claimed the family name of Chiba and continued dominance of this region until the Muromachi period. In the Kamakura period, Chiba Tsunetane helped Minamoto Yoritomo establish the Kamakura Bakufu. This made the Chiba clan important in the Kamakura Bakufu. He built Inohana castle on Inohana mountain and moved his headquarters to it from Oohji castle.
