Ferozepur
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India. Ferozepur is a city in Punjab, India. It was founded by Sultan Firuz Shah Tughluq from 1351 to 1388 on the banks of the Sutlej River, Ferozepur today is a mofussil transportation and administration center. The population of the city was 78,738 inhabitants in the year 1991. Firozepur District is one of the nineteenn districts in the state of Punjab in North West India. Three revolutionaries in the Indian Independence movement Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev executed by the British in 1931 for terrorism, were cremated a short distance from the city. Firozepur Cantt. is adjacent to and south of the city.
