Orai

India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India.

Orai is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, in northern India. The district headquarters for Jalaun District are housed in Orai. The city lies midway between the cities of Kanpur and Jhansi on National Highway 25. Because of its proximity to Industrial city kanpur, This city has already seen a good growth in Industrial area and going forwad to become an industrial hub after Kanpur. City has historical value because of its location which is between Jhansi, Mahoba and Kalpi.

The city of Orai was named after the sage Rishi Uddhalak and was earlier known as Uddhalak Nagari. This place has a composite climate very hot during summers and very cold during winters.

Orai is well connected by road and rail.Several express and superfast trains running from kanpur and Lucknow towards the southern,central and western parts of the country pass through Orai. A large number of government and private buses connect the city to the major towns and cities of UP as well as those of other neighbouring states.Chakeri is the nearest airport connecting Delhi and Lucknow. Orai is famous all over India for delicious Gulab Jamuns.

Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Orai enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
