Neemuch
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India. Neemuch is a town in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is the administrative headquarters of Neemuch District. Neemuch has been known for the production of opium and being the birth place of Central Reserve Police Force, CRPF. It also hosts a large scale recruits training center for CRPF of India. Neemuch is also known as India's eye-donor capital as it accounts for the highest per capita eye donation rate in the country. It is also known for The Gomabai Nethralaya and Research Center Asia's largest eye hospital with world class facilities. Nimach, a town of Central India, with a British military cantonment, within the state of Gwalior, on the border of Rajputana, with a station on the Rajputana railway. In 1857 it was the most southerly place to which the Mutiny extended. The brigade of native troops of the Bengal army, which was stationed there, mutinied and marched to Delhi, the European officers taking refuge in the fort, where they were besieged by a rebel force from Mandasor, and defended themselves gallantly until relieved by the Malwa field force. Since 1895 it has been the headquarters of the political agent in Malwa. Neemuch is divided into three main parts are Neemuch city, Chhavani, and Baghana. Chhavani is the main commercial area of Neemuch hosting Pustak bazar, Bohra gali, Cloth market, Rabindranath Tagore Marg and Sabji market. The Neemuch district has approximately 700,000 inhabitants as of 2001. The local economy of Neemuch is mainly based on the agriculture market which is well known in the surrounding areas. One of the main temples of Neemuch is Kileshwar which hosts yearly the Shivratri festival where thousands of devotees flock to the temple for the Darshan of lord Shiva. Neemuch is said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. It enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
