Nandurbar
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India. Nandurbar is an administrative district in the state of Maharashtra in India. The district headquarters are located at Nandurbar. The district occupies an area of 5055 square kilometers and has a population of 1,311,709 of which 15.45 percent were urban as of 2001. The district of Dhule in Maharashtra was divided on 1st july 1998 to form two new districts-Dhule and Nandurbar. Nandurbar, Navapur, Akkalkuwa, Taloda, Akrani, and Shahada talukas fall in Nandurbar district. The district headquarters is Nandurbar. Famous temples in city are Sideshwar Temple; Sculpture of Mahavir in the river of Gomai, near Mohida, Pandava leni near Gomai River; Toranmal Shiv Temple and Dattatreya Temple, Sculpture near Gomai River, Hidimba's Forest near Taloda in Satpuda, Horaphali is beutiful waterfall and Satpuda Hills etc. Like some of its sister municipalities and towns, Nandurbar is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in India.
