Kheda

India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India.

Kheda is a town and a municipality in Kheda district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Kheda, also known as Kaira, is 35 kilometers from Ahmedabad. The town of Kheda passed to the Babi family early in the eighteenth century, with whom it remained until 1763, when it was taken by the Marathas. The Marathas ceded the district to the British in 1803, and it became part of the Bombay Presidency of British India. It was a large military station until 1830, when the cantonment was removed to Deesa. Gujjars established many villages in the Kheda District area and so did groups of Jats. Most of them do not keep their former surname, which was probably a clan name, and have changed it to other surnames such as Patel or Chaudhary. As of 2001 India census  India, Kheda had a population of 24,034.

The clans of Jats in Gujarat are similar to those of Jats of North India. The following clans are found in the Kheda District. The way they are written in Gujarati is given in brackets. Kheda District is one of few districts in Gujarat with a Jat population. There is one temple of Meldi Mata in Kheda, which holds annual fair every year on 13 14 and 15 th february. Around 100000 people visit kheda during this time.

Like some of its sister municipalities and towns, Kheda is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in India.
