Jais
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India. Jais is a city and a municipal board in Rae Bareli district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. As of 2001 India census, Jais had a population of 24,366 inhabitants. The males constitute 52 percent of the population and females 48 percent. Jais has an average literacy rate of 42 percent, lower than the national average of 59.5 percent, male literacy is 50 percent, and female literacy is 33 percent. In Jais, 17 percent of the population is under 6 years of age. Jais has a railway station on the Indian Railways network.
