Hathras
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India. Hathras is one of the district headquarter of the Uttar Pradesh state, India. The Hathras district erstwhile Mahamaya Nagar was created in 1997 by incorporating parts of the Aligarh, Mathura and Agra districts. It was given the alternative name Hathras district shortly after. Hathras lies within the Brij region, associated with the epic Mahabharata and Hindu mythology. Hathras was an industrial hub during the British Raj cotton milling, knives, asafoetida and Desi Ghee products were the main industries. The latter two continue to be made, and Hathras is now also notable for carpets and brass and silver handicraft items. The famous residents have included the popular Hindi poet, musician and painter Kaka Hathrasi.
Hathras experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in India.
