Bellary
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India. Bellary is a city in Bellary District in Karnataka state, India. Bellary district is spread from southwest to northeast and is situated on the eastern side of Karnataka state. The geographical area is 8447 square kilometers. This district is bounded by Raichur District on the north, Koppal District on the west, Chitradurga District and Davanagere District on the south, and Anantapur District and Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh on the east. The major occupation of this district is agriculture and 75 percent total labor force is dependent on agriculture for its livelihood. The important crops grown are cotton, jowar, groundnut, paddy, sunflower and cereals. The net irrigated area is 37 percent to the net area sown. The pattern of land utilization in the district is as under. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace.
