Ganjam
India officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. India is a union of twenty-eight states and seven federally-governed union territories. New Delhi is the capital of India. Ganjam District is a district in the Indian state of Orissa located on the border of Andhra Pradesh. Ganjam is known for its beaches bordering the Indian Ocean, the most famous ones being Gopalpur and Dhavaleshwar. The most populous city in Ganjam, Berhampur, is famous for silver filigree and silk sarees woven with gold and silver threads. The district headquarters is Chhatrapur. Ganjam is divided into the subdivisions Chhatrapur, Berhampur, and Bhanjanagar. These are divided into the blocks, Jagannath Prasad, Belaguntha, Sorada, Buguda, Polsara, Kodal, Khalikot, Dharkot, Kabisuryanagar, Purrusottampur, Hinjilikatu, Digapahandi, Kukudakhandi, Chikitigarh, Patrapur, Aska, Sankhemundi, and Sergarh. Ganjam total area is 8,070 square kilometers. Its population is approximately 2,704,056 inhabitants. Mausimaa Temple is an ancient shrine in Ganjam District of Orissa. The temple can be approached by road from Bhubaneswar and Chhatrapur.
